My First Yoga Class! Wow I Didn't Know That People Could Do That With Their Bodies!

Sitting here on the couch as my husband does the dinner dishes.  I have a 4 foot long heating pad that is attempting to warm the knots out of muscles that I never knew that I had.
I was a long distance runner in my younger days.  I know what it feels like to go out and run 6 , 7 miles and have trouble walking for a few days.  I now walk 3 to 4 miles a day but never in my life have I been asked to do the kind of stuff this tiny little yogi woman asked me to do.
Yeah I am competitive.  I refused to admit that I can't get my head on my brand new yoga mat while I am in the pigeon pose.  Who the heck named it that?  Okay maybe a cabby after they ran over the pigeon.  Take your left leg and bend it under you so that it sticks out your right side then strectch out your right leg until it is touching the back end of your mat.  Head on the floor, what?  I am 50!  I can't even touch my feet, unless I bend my knees or I am sitting in a chair. This stuff is unnatural.
My husband who has also never done yoga and has two bad knees was lying on the mat next to me laughing his twisted torso off.  These classes are hard to stomach.  The young girls in front of me should not have been in yoga pants but at least they can turn into human pretzels at a moments notice.  I think I am jealous!
Yeah, yeah, yeah the yogi says we need to practice, practice, practice.....maybe from my wheelchair in the rehab.  I wanted to trip her as she adjusted my sitting pose. ( I have no idea if it is called that)
I will probably try it again but it will be a begginers, over 50, stiff as a board class!  Where all you do is the final cool down pose of laying on your back with your eyes closed, palms up for the whole time.
Afterwards I did a food demo with an achey back, a red face and the stocking feet.  I couldn't bend over to put my shoes on!  They loved the food and I may have picked up some clients or maybe they just felt bad for me.
I think I will stick to walking - even a 1 year old can do that! 8-0  I need some chocolate!
